About Flamenco-Ish

Are you looking for live Flamenco guitar music for your event?

Flamenco-Ish is a combination of primarily instrumental Rumba Flamenca music with minor influences from Latin genres and Soft Rock. The compositions are similar to works by Gipsy Kings, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Strunz & Farah, Armik, etc.

Flamenco-Ish performances consist of Ishan  playing exotic melodies on the guitar over backing track accompaniment or live recorded loops! He also plays some unaccompanied solo guitar pieces as well as recognizable pop songs infused with flamenco musical stylings. The backing tracks are filled with vibrant percussion and rhythm section instruments that are great for a rich sound and festive atmosphere.  The live loops are perfect for more simple ambience, and create a unique flowing  sound that provide elegance to any space

The type of music performed includes original songs, covers, and improvisations; all of which have a mix of different sounds and influences. This is why it is not necessarily just traditional flamenco, but instead: “Flamenco-Ish

What is Rumba Flamenca?

Flamenco itself is a traditional form of music developed and practiced by the Roma (Gypsy) people from primarily southern Spain. The style historically has been influenced by the Moorish, Spanish, and Sephardic Jewish cultures. These fused with the Gypsy art form into the genre that is recognized as traditional flamenco.

Rumba Flamenca  is a more recent sub-genre of flamenco that added elements of Latin American and Caribbean rhythms to melodies and structures of traditional flamenco. This style is more often recognized in mainstream popular culture and is typically what the general public refers to as flamenco music.

Examples of Rumba Flamenca songs include:

"Pharaon" (Gipsy Kings),

"Entre Dos Aguas" (Paco de Lucia),

"Gypsy Flame" (Armik),

and many other popular works. This genre works especially well for parties, themed events or background music.
